Blood Queen has to be the saddest of all of the Blood Destiny books, at least to me. Although, the ending was outstanding. How much heartbreak, grief and shameful admissions she endured was sad. How she gets up and marchs on is amazing and how she remained sane is an even bigger wonder.
Classic tragic hero(ine) plot ... actually it's kind of nice to see it used effectively, some of the current "books" being written could use a plot ... any plot ... or anything resembling a plot like device.
And, just to be clear, I am not talking about Connie's books having no plot.
Reading is a gift to yourself that you can share with everyone.
Never crossed my mind in any way you might have including Connie's books.. Connie's books have so many Plots going at same time I almost have to take notes. LOL
I'm another multiple re-reader. It is always interesting to go back to the earlier books with perspective from the later books. Blood Queen is (currently) my favourite, Lissa goes though so much, but she gets a lot of the good things she deserves - respect, support, mates. I think that one of the things I like most in this book is that Lissa just goes and does what she believes needs to be done, stop the bad guys save the universe, she if finally starting to get control of her own life.
