The story did mention that werewolves and vampires were in the world. And just because these guys call themselves demons doesn't mean that's what they are in the larger scheme of things. I liked it. It had a different flavor, and the main character wasn't suffering from self esteem issues. It made her more kick-ass right from the start. I can see how it would tie into the larger universes (and who's to say there aren't different creatures in different universes?). The One and the Four (five?) oversee all the universes, right? Or are there versions of them in each?. I remember all the way back in the Blood Destiny series (Blood Domination, in like the 3rd chapter) Griffin says, "Come with me, little girl. It's time you saw the wider universes.".
As far as I know, with the exception of Bree suckering the General into an empty universe and then sending all his believers with him, we have pretty much stayed in one universe, just going up and down the timeline.
Multiverse therory says that the alternate universes closest to our own will be similar, but with variations. The variations grow larger the further you go from your own. The Seattle Elementals universe could be just one or two steps off our own, making it close, but not quite the same. The Gods, of course, would be able to travel there, so there is potential.
Of course, I could be completely wrong. I'm often guilty of reckless speculation.
