Hot Demon In the City
Korde
"What the hell happened to you?" I demanded. Lexsi ignored me as she climbed into the van the following morning. Mike had another appointment with the Marine Animal Sanctuary people, in their downtown San Francisco office.
Lexsi looked as if she'd come out the loser in a bar fight. Her left eye was swelled shut and turning a deep shade of purple—even Watson's hadn't been that bad. Mike should have sent her home first thing—instead, she was chasing after his ass.
"I got attacked in a restaurant parking lot last night," she muttered. "You should see the other guys."
"Guys? As in more than one?"
"Three. And I called the police afterward," she said. "They're in jail. Do you have any aspirin? I've used up all I had already."
"Were they trying to rob you?" I demanded.
"Police think they had rape on their minds."
That's when my vision went red. As in I was ready to turn and kill somebody red.
Think happy thoughts. Think happy thoughts.

Got it on my mind to change my ways, but I don't think I can be anything other than me.

"I know you," Kory pointed at Tiburon. "Farin, why are you here?" he asked.
"Because two vampires decided they wanted her to answer questions about Nick's whereabouts," Tiburon answered.
One of Kory's companions went still.
The doorbell rang a second time. I hoped it was Anita and not vampires.

Lexsi
I turned back to Farin and the man I'd brought to the house; she was still in shock after the unusual method I'd employed to transport her across the bay. The man—I still didn't know who he was but he was muscled enough to be a prize fighter, was attempting to console her.
"Tiburon," he held out his hand. I shook with him. The word rolled easily off his tongue—Spanish was his native language.
"Shark?" I asked.
"My father," he shrugged and turned back to Farin.
"How," Farin croaked at me.
"That's a story for later, okay? I had to get you away from those men."
"Vampires," Tiburon muttered. I went still. He knew what they were.
"Hmmph," he said. "If they come hunting you, you'd better know what they are."
"Have I seen you before?" Farin blinked at Tiburon.
"Featherweight boxer," he grinned. "Because I was born in Mexico, they almost didn't let me buy a condo in the building where your brother lives."
"Snark Demonio," Farin breathed. "Nick said you were in the building."
"Snark?" It was my turn to blink at him.
"It was supposed to be Shark—the English word for my name. People started calling me Snark when I spoke my mind about opponents."
"I loved it when you called Frankie the Flail, Frankie the Fail," a slow smile lifted the corners of Farin's mouth.
"I'm surprised someone else didn't do it first," Tiburon shrugged. "I put him down in four."

"So, you think Claudia Platt is a vampire or werewolf?" I asked, naming the bar's owner.
Kory's head jerked in my direction for a moment before turning back to the road. "Can't say," he replied.
Well, that was one way to skirt my truth meter; his ambiguous words pinged in the truth category.
"Whatever she is, she's involved somehow with the not-so-nice vampires of San Francisco."
"I suppose that's obvious," Kory agreed. "Here we are—chateau de Lexsi." He shoved the gearshift into park and shut off the engine.
"It's chateau d'Aunt Bree," I sighed. "She's letting me live here. I wouldn't make enough to buy this in a thousand years."
"As long as it's big enough to hold all of us," he said, pulling a duffle from the back seat of the van.
"Hey," I objected. He'd invited himself to stay?
"Look, it's for the best, really. I'll explain sometime soon. For now, we need to keep Mason and Watson safe."
"In my house?" I squeaked.
"In your Aunt's house," he countered with a grin. "Besides, Watson says that pasta you put together for him was better than most restaurants make."
"You want me to cook, clean and pick up after you, too?" I was really pissed, suddenly.
"No, that's not what I said," he began.
"Yes it is," I said. "It's exactly what you said."
"We can pick up after ourselves," he defended himself. "But if you'd cook now and then, we'll pay for the groceries and booze."
"This is impossible," I whispered, shaking my head.
"Come on, you need sleep. Tell me that's not true."
"I'd like to throw stuff at you," I huffed.
"You're too tired. You'd just miss."
"Jerk."
"Prissy pants."
"What did you call me?" I stopped halfway to the front door and rounded on Kory.
"If you get to call me jerk, which I'm not," he tapped his chest, "then I get to call you prissy pants, which you're not."
"Is that how it works?" I demanded.
"Works well enough for me."
"Fine. Get your jerky ass in the house. I'm tired and I want to go to bed."
"Why didn't you say so?"
"I'm saying so, now."
"Fine. Get your prissy pants in the house, too. I'm tired and I want to go to bed."
"Why didn't you say so?"
"I'm saying so, now."
Have a great week, everybody

Is this series far in the future from the Quinn books ? Cause in Keeper , Lissa says that it has been 2 years since she saw Bree. In Blackwing, Bree says they have been cleaning up the traps the hidden left behind. Now hopefully Corrie is in the casket for the Spell breaker book and that would mean Lexie would be only 7. And do you think Nick is the werewolf Nick from the Cloud books?

I think Lexi would be 20 during Blackwing going by my timeline...

Giving Connie's penchant for time travelling they could be anywhere in a time line that exists after the God Wars.

No idea about Nick
