Either way, the term messenger is just a word, anyone who delivers a message or item from one person to another is called a messenger. It in no way denotes rank or worth.
The bright shining light is basically anyone using a great deal of power, Lissa, Ashe, Reah, Breanne, Belen, Thorsten and others have all had that shining light. The stars in the eyes thing is also a power thing, Kifirin has it, Lissa, Ashe, Griffin, Conner amongst others.
I'm not at all sure Hank is a good guy.
Clare spotted this at the time just didn't get around to making a repy. You may have something about Hank not being a good guy as Connie does seem to have a perchance for giving us a twist like that. After all who better to turn hank around if he is aligned with the rogues than the mighty heart/love, and isn't it the mission to destroy or bring the rogues back to the fold
What I do not understand is why Breanne doesn't know who Hank is. Ashe, Lissa and Reah can all see straight through to who someone is, why can't Breanne in this instance?
As an aside I looked into the messenger thing and the only mention is in connection to the Elemayia in the ir'indicti books where they use one. Nothing special about it.
She hasn't tried yet has she? She tried on Jason and failed, but she has been shielding herself from reading Hank, mostly in fear of learning all about the Dom/Sub world, she doesn't want to know.
Ashe didn't figure out who she was either, maybe the shield blocks others from seeing her as well
