What is the specific definition of a Vhanaraszhes. I realize they can change what was but is that it and if so why was Corinne to be punished if that was what she was? BTW I have read every book and loved every one and can't wait for the next.
The prophecy of the Vhanaraszh is never stated in any of the books. We just get hints. Here are a few that I think help explain the nature of the Vhanaraszh.
From Cloud Rebel: "She is the Vhanaraszh," I said. "The prophecy says that she will travel her own path and wondrous things will occur."
From God Wars 1 Blood Double: "Vhanaraszh is the female equivalen of Vhirilaszh. Both mean the same. The words in the Larentii language mean Restorer." (pg 233, Location 4198)
From God Wars1: Blood Double: "You have already seen the Vhanaraszh, you merely did not realize it. Both Vhirilaszh and Vhanaraszh are invisible to most, if not all, including the gods. You might call them wild cards." . . . ""Something they have no knowledge of and no control over." (pg 234 Location 4221)
Based on these I think the Larentii were too quick to condemn her. Corinne acted as a restorer, as she restored the time line to what it should have been.
I'm not a huge fan of the Larentii right now.
The praxis called foundmother disgusts me.
Quote "Most mothers are returned to their races without any memory of their pregnancy"
BTW: How can the embryo live without another persons DNA?
Even if the Embryo is wholly the Larentii fathers with no DNA from the foundmother, I still think it's wrong how they handle this.
The mothers have no memories of the pregnancy, no right to the child etc. etc. !
The Larentii are supposed to be good and benign. It doesn't look very benign from my point of view.
And don't get me started on their whole non-interference business.
Yes destroying the Sirenali homeworld was a little extrem perhaps.
But honestly those guys should never have existed in the first place.
Their ability to place obsessions that cant even be removed by the Three, just awesome.
And then they can hide themselves and others from the Three, the gods and the Larentii, marvelous.
Why where those sucksers created in the first place. Kifirin even if with his "fathers" power shouldn't have been able to create a race than can hide from the 3.
Even if the rogue gods had a hand in it and created them, that makes not much sense. Except for the General they were all weaker than the 3.
How could they have had the power to create a race with such abilities?
It cant have been the general himself because he only had the power to destroy not create.
In the end I believe the Larentii did the right thing by destroying Sirena(?) and they could have done a lot of good by not putting their head in the sand and actually help people.
The gods were forced to create the Saa Thalar because the Larentii were and are playing ostrich. Fools the lot of them.
I apology for the long rant and for the spelling mistakes. My firefox is on strike, he refuses to correct my spelling, that bastard.
"Someone once said a million monkeys banging on a million typewriters could reproduce the works of Shakespeare.
The internet has proven that this is not true."

There's the fly in the ointment that has bothered me about Connies Universe (books)...
How can a created race fool/hide from even the lesser gods, and they most definitely should not be able to from the upper tiers like Hank or the 3?
The One created the Larenttii, so I'm ok that they have some power to go undetected to all but the upper tiers of gods.
The Serenali and Ra'ak were created by Kifirin using his father's power which was still a tier under Hank's level. Yet, Hank can't see a Serenali.or their obsession. not very logical.
The whole Larentii surrogate mother thing kind of made me less a fan of the big blue guys too.
of course, without all this, the books maybe rather boring
Got it on my mind to change my ways, but I don't think I can be anything other than me.
- The Pretty Reckless "Light Me Up"
The only thing that really bothers me was the judgment against Cori. She was told she had permission to change the past and to use her own judgement. Permission from Love no less. The larentii council was arrogant to second guess that, not to mention their own wise ones who abstained from voting. That should have told them something.
That they would separate her particles after that is stupid in the extreme, especially her mate who was speaking with Breeanne directly during the book.
There are a few points however that I can think of against her. One, she didn't use her power to change what was, she merely time traveled and directly altered things. That's supposed to be a no no. Also, she intimated she had expected to be hunted, which means what she did may have been morally the right thing to do to get the timeline back on track, but by her judgement she knew she was going too far.
As for all the hiding from gods thing, it's necessary. The protags are too powerful, all they'd have to do is look, bend time, seperate particles.
The story would be over on page one. The enemy needs to be effective for a good balanced story. It also makes sense if you consider the below...
Think of looking like having a search engine for the akashic (however you spell it) records, all the gods would really have to do is prevent the race from being readable by those records. Looking isn't an omniscience thing, or even dependent on the one looking, otherwise it would always work for the three.
But yeah, the blue dudes are starting to piss me off, their no better than the other races. If they didn't feed off sunlight I'm sure they wouldn't be vegetarians.
Interesting discussion ... I think I'll add a few thoughts to this .
Foundmothers - This practice has changed since the Saa Thalarr started having Larentii children, and Cori was told how to further change it. This means that the Larentii are not only open to change but are willing to tell others how to bring about further change. How many humans in power are willing to do that? Larentii are the best healers and take great care of the mothers, as long as the Foundmothers are returned none the worse for the experience ... I don't think I would call it Evil; arrogant and manipulative sure, but not Evil. Remember we have seen Larentii that do not practice this so without knowing what percentage follows this practice it might be premature to accuse the whole race.
The Council - Definitely jumped the gun on condemning Cori, of course it could be that this happening is what allowed (prompted) Bree to do what she did. To think that none of the five Mighty might have tilted the decision to make things come out right ... could be an error in judgement ... remember Connie is a master at misdirection .
Sirenali - The dark realms are supposed to balance the light realms ... so the Sirenali ability to go undetected is not a huge advantage ... considering that just about every race wants to exterminate them, this ability might be ruled as necessary.
A truly evil thought to consider ... the light side has the Mighty and the One ... what does the dark side have to balance that? ... and who is to say we are or are not seeing evidence of that?
