I was doing a re-read of the series and this plot line with the mind bond and the Green Fae always bothered me. I know that common sense and logic doesn't always apply for plots but...
Anyone want to take a stab at explaining why Lissa just left Toff with the Green Fae? I mean I would have took Toff and that baby stealing b!tch Redbird with me to Le Ath Veronis to make sure he was raised to know who his real family was. Redbird would be the one to suffering being away from here people. I would have allowed Corent to come (I wouldn't be that vindictive)
The site has been pretty dead lately as we await the arrival of Connie's latest masterpiece, so I thought maybe I could stir up some discussion.
Got it on my mind to change my ways, but I don't think I can be anything other than me.

The way I understood it, the reason Toff stayed with the Green Fae was because of Redbird's Mind Bond, and the fact that if they were separated, it would damage Toff mentally and basically turn him into a vegetable.
Lissa was unwilling to take the risk of damaging Toff so she decided to leave him there, but keep an eye on them. I believe it would have been too mentally damaging to Lissa if she had to deal with Redbird constantly.
Reading is a gift to yourself that you can share with everyone.
My question was why leave Toff an Redbird with the Green Fae. Why not take the both back to LAV? the mind bond is between Redbird and Toff not the Green Fae as a whole. Just didn't make sense to me. I know it was needed for plot line, but just seemed odd.
