Well, just think … a publishing house novelist takes 12 to 18 months per book … instead of 2 months between books.

Patience is a virtue … one of the few that reaping what you sew improves all involved :-).

So … I should start the countdown for you?

Connie is much more talented than traditional publishing house authors. I think they would stifle her creativity and drive. While I am counting the days until release of Connie's newest masterpiece, I don't want her to rush it, nor do I want her working to near exhaustion (like some of her heroines) to keep us (her adoring public) happy.

The issue I have with most traditional authors is that it takes 12-18 months to release new stuff. If they are writing a series, sometimes I forget the characters and events in previous books. If they are weaving an epic plot that spans multiple books, I sometimes miss major events and hints as the plot comes together. I actually have made point not to start any multi-book series until they are near completion. There is no reason for this long wait, and I think the publishers actually do a disservice to their authors by taking so long to publish the next book in the series.

Connie's publication schedule actually spoils me in a way. I am so amazed that she is writing 3 different series at the same time and keeping a book popping out every 2 -3 months. Though I think a lot may have to do with not wanting to keep idle while the current book is in editing :-) Which kind of makes be feel sorry for Joe, because as soon as he finishes editing one book, Connie already has another for him. Joe's editing is really good too. The only glaring grammar issues I see usually are "you" instead of "your" which is also amazing for a self-published author on a schedule like Connie. J. R. Rain pushes books out pretty quickly, but most are not full novels and the editing is not near as good as Connie's/Joe's work (though it has gotten better).

Let the countdown begin!

Got it on my mind to change my ways, but I don't think I can be anything other than me.
