For those of you who requested a teaser:

Eleven days. Eleven days it took, for me to become vampire. The beating had revived old nightmares and I only wished to die. I'd shaken my head and muttered no through lips so bloodied and swollen it was difficult to say the word. He'd asked me if I wanted to live. I said no. He asked me if I wanted to be strong and live forever. I said no again, with difficulty. "Wrong answer," he whispered and cut into my wrists.

Ah, The plot thickens. I am hoping this is not really Gavin turning our character. I think it may be an echo of what happened to Lissa where a rogue vampire converted her. I think this is another rogue vampire doing this. If this is Gavin doing the turning, its going to take alot for me to forgive him on the beating and turning when she is saying "no" to being vampire. I would be putting him with Kirifin and Garde for cruelty.

I'm thinking/hoping that Gavin has been assigned as a surrogate sire in the same way that Merrill was assigned as Lissa's surrogate sire

Yah, this so breaks conduct rules that this has to be a bad guy. That being said, strange things can happen in Connie's world. I am definitely looking forward to the new volume.
