Exactly...only The Mighty Heart can Change what Was, and on a much more powerful level than the Larentii Wise Ones, apparently. Though I must say, it is made such a big deal how the Larentii will never, ever do it because of all the repercussions...I'm unclear if the assumption is that in the case of Breanne's Changes the universe can just *somehow* deal with/smooth out the ramifications of her actions, or if there's a big tsunami coming later from all the changes she's made.

Other thoughts:
I am trying to go back and list the times when Breanne gets prescience or that good old tingling she has to follow resulting in saving someone or many someones. I know when Lissa did it, it was almost always saving one of her Mates. When Breanne did it, she saved Stellan (twice), Fes (retroactively), and Illdevar (twice).

(Of course that also reminds me how at the end of Blood Royal, the same gift auto-folded Charles so he could help kill Xenides...no *apparent* mate around.)(Why doesn't Charles have a mate yet, anyway, dangit?)

ANYWAY - may or may not be useful in the Great Mate Debate.

Two other notes - while going back to check some data in Destroyer I notes two things. 1.) Ashe did tell Opal he would try and send someone for her. Which, is a way he kinda send Bree/forced her to want to run. I doubt that's what he meant though.

Also at the end of Destroyer, the "Shining Lady" (aka The Mighty Heart aka Breanne) confronts Calhoun (the gov't agent who causes the near death of, well, everybody) saying, "Well, look at you, you little rogue godling, you." Which is the same thing (rogue godling) all Breanne's pursuers at the end of BT are called. Add that to "whoever" was causing Chaos in the High Demon series...just thought it was interesting, wondering if these are all the same Big Bad.

Just a quick point. In BT, Bre has gone back to when Lissa's been gone to the future for two years. However, Ashe met Winkler quite a few years after Lissa was gone. Therefore, Opal has not met Ashe yet.

I would also like ANYONE to explain to me why any man thinks he has the right to lay a hand on a grown woman (Jayson). This recurring theme of men thinking they know best (Kifirin, Griffen, Wlodek, Hank, Jayson) not only flabbergasts me, it completely pisses me off.

Teeg ignoring Dee's advice (compulsion) and the common sense his mama gave him also fallsnin that list.

Thanks for the vent.

I must admit that this is something that has bothered me for a long time. The men in pretty much all of the books are so, well, primitive! None seem to have any respect or understanding of women, they either treat them as something inferior to be owned and bossed around or just as bad, some sort of delicate flower to be looked after. It creeps me out. Even the "nice" men in the books are not really what I would think of as nice, just creepy. If a man called me "little girl" like the "nice" ones do, they would get one hell of a mouthful of abuse, patronising gits! I really don't understand what has caused all the male characters to be this way, none of them act like normal men, or is this some sort of cultural difference between European men and and American? I must admit that although I have many American female friends I have no male American friends. I really hope that isn't the case!

@frazzledhaloz I'm fairly sure that the changer is Kay/Kalia the Larenti have mentioned how the changer sometimes works alongside the Vanahrash (i cannot spell that for the life of me lol). We know Breanne and Kay were seen working together in Ashes series when they greeted the half Elemeya children.

Also, possibly unrelated but i think a good clue. In Destroyer at the end Ashe and Kay turn up at Randys and she changes his aura lines to awaken his Werewolf DNA. So perhaps she's able to change things on a small scale relating to the Aura's she can see. Its almost a less informative version of what Bree can do, she's able to 'read' people by there aura. In blood trouble she can sort of read people withought barely looking/speaking she knows Bill is no threat as he is already in love with someone. And it terrifies her that she can read attraction from Ashe after how she was treated.

Do not go gentle into that good night.
