All I can say is wow, so the the four previously known as the three create the one not the other way round lol well there's a connie twist if I've ever seen one and I think I see where the new series about rehash daughter will go but I'll hold that to myself for now .... All. I have to say is thank you Connie
So, after all the discussions on timelines over in the Saa Thalaar forums and while we wait for the next Connie masterpiece to publish. I went back a re-read the entire series, paying attention to time/date references and time line jumping. Noting that there were forces (Acrimus and the General) that altered some things and that there was a lot of changing what was to correct certain events. most of everything pretty well meshes up and or the anomaly is explained with only a few stand outs. Maybe someone out there would like to take a stab at providing explanations for these. I am not perfect and certainly could have missed something.
Stand outs that don't add up (in no particular order)
1. Breanne travels back to San Francisco to change what was, but something prevented her from going any farther back than 2 years after Lissa went forward in time to save Kifirin and died (also recorded as her death on earth for all practical purposes). Yet later in the book (GW #2) she travels back in time 30 years to get a signed photo of a German race car driver for Jayson's Birthday.
2. at the end of Destroyer, Ir'Indicti#5, Ashes goes back in time with Kay to fix Randy's dormant Werewolf Aura Lines (20 year after Star Cove was destroyed) and bring him to Sara at South Star. Ashe says after their return to South Star that the Shining woman (Love/Breanne) has disappeared since he left earth behind, says she said she was from the future, but he had no idea how much far in the future that was. This contradicts the event's in GW's as Kay is fixed by Breanne/Love then (future) so Kay shouldn't be with Ashe at that time and Ashe would have seen a lot of the Shining woman (Breanne/Love)
3. Opal has a big part in GW's, which mostly occurs around 2012 -2014 earth time. goes to the future and gets the ability to Fold space, us nexus echo etc. To keep the time line correct she would need to return to be at the Shifter conference at Star Cove in Ir'Indicti#5 around 2033 earth time. Ashe tells her he will come back for her in sometime in the future, but we don't see that in GW's... there is no "Future" Opal mentioned as with other characters.
I am researching a few more to see if they fit or not.
I am also constructing a time line of events for the series in earth time to help put the pieces together. I will post it for review and comment as soon as I get a draft going and figure out a good way to present it. I think someone tried this once, but the product is missing from the forum now.
It totally amazes me that Connie can keep all this straight in her head. I thought she would have these big charts on her office wall with family trees and event time lines, but Joe says it's all kept in her mind.
Got it on my mind to change my ways, but I don't think I can be anything other than me.
- The Pretty Reckless "Light Me Up"
Okay, I'll give it a shot. Keep in mind that this is only my opinion so it could be wrong.
1) When Breanne went back she was going to interfere with her own life, that was not allowed. When she went back for the autograph it was outside the time that she would interfere with her own life so there was no block.
2) You are thinking linearly here, you can't do that. There are at least three time lines involved in this, remember that Breanne was brought back by the Larentii race, changing what was, until that happened there is / was a future where Ashe and Kay would not see a lot of the shining lady … or possibly not know Breanne as the Shining Lady.
3) I'll have to check my notes, I think the only hard timeline indicator was Winklers age, but I could be wrong. I'll get back to this one.
Reading is a gift to yourself that you can share with everyone.
JD, i also imagined huge Dry Erase charts all over Connie's wall. Perfecting her timeline as she goes along!
WOW! to keep all that straight.
Yeah! I would definitely need charts! LOL!
I am currently unsupervised. It freaks me out too, but the possibilities are endless!
