Nods could have been one of those people that can see through illusion. Or if you want a more sarcastic possibility ... Nods was was just too damn blind and stupid to pay attention to anything other than hair color and basic shape ... i.e. you are not a person just a thing I am forced to interact with.

Personally I could argue either one ... lol.

I thought if he could have seen through the disguise, then he would have outed her at first sight on Mandil. The latter explanation would be more probable, but would you would think that he would take a little more time to make sure it was Reah before blasting up the place up. Though maybe he was dipping in to the Drakus seed himself and was a little paranoid and delusional to begin with?

Got it on my mind to change my ways, but I don't think I can be anything other than me.

Pure speculation but it's possible Reah blew the illusion away before going full thifilathi at the end of the book and fought the Raak. It is possible if Nods was there for that fight, and he should have been, that he witnessed Reah's true form.

It's also possible the disguise was extremely subtle. If it didn't change her facial characteristics or eyes then he could have recognized her through that. If it was a full on disguise there would have been no reason for her to get a haircut... She could have just put it up.

Of course, that was probably just added to cause her more mental anguish.
