Has anyone noticed how affectionate Belen has been getting with Lyssa? Especially in Demon's Dream, he's been very supportive, rubbing her back etc. Kifirin certainly noticed and didn't like it as he was blowing smoke. Belen was also responsible for leaving the bet napkin in the cellar for Lyssa to find at the beginning. It seems more than paternal or friend interest to me!
Kifirin is currently not in a position to object ... Belen also made it clear that although Kifirin chose Lissa for his mate, Lissa belonged to ALL (my emphasis) of us.
I think, at this time, that Belen is going for the father role, Lissa needs one father figure that won't turn around and stab her in the back.

I agree with Larry I even think Lissa said she thinks of Belen as a brother in one of the later Blood Destiny books(can't remember which one). By the way anyone else think Lissa didn't think Kifirin's banishment through after all, as it's been said many times time holds no meaning to the Nameless Ones. Not to mention he's now officially fuck with all of Lissa's kid's and grand-children's lives.
