When Ashe opens the gate to save the half Elemaiyan children, a beautiful woman with black hair and blue eyes is there. Before he closes the gate, she uses mind speech to tell him "I love you" She was an old friend of Director Jennings.
Any guesses who this is? Is it someone that we already know from the Blood Destiny series? It's rather intriguing.

I also tried to figure this out but could not come up with a likely person. There are not many women with black or dark hair in the series yet. Griffin's wife, Amara, has 'dark' hair and 'almond-shaped dark' eyes. She appears first in Blood Domination I think. She does not really fit the description. Fox (from Blood Queen and after) is also a brunette with short hair.
In Vendetta, Rabis sends a small group of people to his daughter to avoid the war that was coming. So she could also be the one who takes care of the families at the end of Shadowed.
I re-read the gate seen. Keep in mind there are two females. The "Black haired and piercing blue eyes" that tells Ashe she loves him. However, it was second "shining woman" that director Bill went through the gate and embraced. So the blue eye'd gal does not need to be a fried of the Director. Note its mentioned she has a "musical" voice. So, I am thinking strongly either Ashe's biological mother, Rabis daughter, the old Queen. Or, she is someone we haven't been introduced to yet.
I think this woman has yet to be introduced by CS so far. Until this scene at the gate I never knew Director Jennings cared for someone outside his human life sphere. Did I miss something in the series concerning this??
