30 Events That Were Beyond Reah's Control

Ok. I am a bit angry on Reah's behalf at those folks who have labeled her as weak when I see the events that happened in her life as being 95% beyond her control.

1.) She was conceived as a result of rape.
2.) Her father tried to have her killed at the time of her birth.
3.) She was beaten severely from the age of 7 by her father until she reached majority.
4.) Upon reaching majority she was drafted into the army because of the mechanizations of her grandfather instead of her uncle, his son.
5.) She was abused and eventually catapulted off planet in an escape pod by one of her superiors in the army.
6.) She was black mailed into working with a different army once she landed on the new planet.
7.) She endured bullying in the army on the planet she landed on because of her size and sex.
8.) Darling Lissa, cited as being the strongest of Connie's characters, stood silently by while the following events were enacted upon Reah by Lissa's mates (Gard, Norian, and Kilfirin), her sons (Teeg and Tory), and her grandfather (Wylend).
9.) She was drafted into Norian's agency to serve out the remainder 25 years of her service when he discovered her skills and abilities.
10.) Norian forced her into a situation that resulted in the death of her first unborn child.
11.) Teeg kidnapped and held her hostage to bring down Zellar.
12.) Teeg stole her half of her inheritance and the reptanoids after Zellar was "successfully" stopped.
13.) Wylend used his powers to eavesdrop on Reah's private conversations with Ry, part of which he relayed to Tory because he was angry about an opinion Reah expressed to Ry.
14.) As a result of 13, Tory married the first bimbo to cross his path, while Reah was pregnant with his first set of twin daughters.
15.) Lissa and Gavin's main concern with Tory's marriage was in preserving his wealth.
16.) Tory then disappeared for the next 25 years to live with said bimbo.
17.) Kilfirin muted Reah's remaining mate's feelings towards her.
18.) Upon birth, Kilfirin muted Reah's girl's feelings toward her and gave custody of them to Jayd and Glinda, who never gave Reah's parental rights any thought whatsoever.
19.) Twice Reah awoke to Kilfirin sitting on her bed telling her that he had used Tory's sperm to impregnate her with two more sets of twin daughters without her consent (a novel form of rape).
20.) As soon as these girls were born, their feelings towards their mother were also muted by Kilfirin and they were also turned over to Jayd and Glinda.
21.) The only reason that Kilfirin did not impregnate her again is because Reah almost died, while delivering the last set of twins as a warning to him to him from his superiors for him to cease and desist his repopulation efforts at Reah's expense.
22.) While her six daughters were growing up, Reah stayed as close as possible to her girls and tried to be as good of a mother as possible given the limitations placed upon her by Kilfirin, Garde, Jayd, and Glinda. Towards that end she started growing gishi fruit.
23.) Of course, Garde, Jayd, and Glinda confiscated all of the Reah's profits from her gishi fruit enterprise to pay off the debts of the crown and to live in the lap of luxury, which left Reah living in poverty and under their thumbs.
24.) Reah's uncle and one of her "mates" stole the profits from her restaurant (her only other possible source of income) and her only decent residence, which also kept her impoverished.
25.) Garde kept Reah even more impoverished than she otherwise would have been by sending handicapped workers for her to care for without giving her funds to help provide for their needs.
26.) After 25 years and Reah's youngest daughters were married off (and conveniently the crown debt was almost paid off), Tory's bimbo wife divorced him and sent him home with his brain fried and almost no memories of the last 25 years.
27.) Almost as soon as Tory returned, Kilfirin showed up and knocked Reah out and literally threw her in Tory's path (with Lissa's full consent) to keep Tory's High Demon under control.
28.) Reah had had enough of the High Demons at that point and so she fled her gishi farm but was drawn into taking out Tory's sicko bimbo ex-wife and her sicko father.
29.) As a result of 28, Norian decided to leave Reah on her own after she is kidnapped, claimed by a Lesser Demon, and left to take down Daddy Dearest's equally sick friends before they completed universe domination by way of the same devices (and variations thereof) that Teeg used to control Reah when he kidnapped her years earlier.
30.) Reah managed to take down all of the sickos (and save 60 odd women), but unfortunately accidentally ended up killing one of her dearest friends to do it.
31.) This last is the final straw that finally pushed her to the brink of suicide.

it was only 6 years

I agree with your view on Reah 100%, I have never thought of Reah as week.

My issue is with Connie over the way Lissa didn't stand up more for Reah and that Reah still kept most of her mates at the end. If I was her, Torevik, Teeg, Lendill would have been left behind, and I am not sure Zendeval would even have been given the time of day. (at the end of HD book 6 any way)

Got it on my mind to change my ways, but I don't think I can be anything other than me.

I think a lot of what happened to Reah was a result of Kiffirin's interference, which was ultimately the result of Calhoun's (?) interference with Kiffirin.

It seems that all of the abuse that happened to her was because other forces were purposely muting the emotional responses of those around her. Ultimately, it all led to Kiffirin's promise to rebuild the High Demon race. Many, many problems could be laid at Kiffirin's feet, and ultimately, he died for his poor performance. The Kiffirin that lives today is a very different entity from what he was before.

I am still surprised that Reah allowed Lexsi to be put into an arranged marriage. I was pretty certain that she was vehemently opposed to that, and at this point, she has the power and self-esteem to stand up to it.

Edit: Oh, and side note: Norian. Lets hope that that there are more ways to kill him. He should be made to suffer for every abuse he heaped upon, well, everyone.

I think you mean Quislus aka Kifirin's Father (maker).

Yup, that's the one. I'm great with context, not so great with details. Still, I think most, if not all, of her problems can be tied back to that.
