After my 2nd readthrough, I have some questionsand & thoughts on the book! Since it is really late here in Germany. One will have to do for tonight!
I have trouble unterstanding how the Nil Mo'erti in the past are complete and at full capacity etc, then in the future they dont work because of the flaw in the contruktion plans.
What do you guys think?
"Someone once said a million monkeys banging on a million typewriters could reproduce the works of Shakespeare.
The internet has proven that this is not true."
It was never stated that N'il Mo'erti were working at full capacity in either instance. However, Opal did say "Yes. Those two—they've had the construction plans for millennia. I suspect this is a testing ground for their initial efforts at building these machines."
What concerns me with the N'il Mo'erti is that we know there has been several millennia since the plans were stolen. Looking at weapon development between 1016 (Sword / spear / axe) vs. 2016 (guns / missiles / nuclear weapons) you have to wonder why the N'il Mo'erti are not hopelessly antique or why they existed at the time they destroyed Tiralia,
Reading is a gift to yourself that you can share with everyone.
I was wondering how the blackmantle kids aren't ra'ak, like grampa blackmantle. I thought they could only spawn? Was the ra'ak race demoted for this to be the case (instead of kids spawn) as punishment. Ex. The emimealya(sp).
