Model reuse?

Was on amazon, and came across the following book that has the exact same character image used for Justin on the cover of Wyvern and Company.

Renée Barratt, at the Cover Counts, does Connie's books. It's probably a "Stock" photo of the guy that Rene'e used to design the cover. its cheaper that finding a model and taking pictures for each project. The Cover Counts site says this:

The Cover Counts often includes the search for, and purchase of stock images to be used in the creation of the Client’s design, the cost of which is generally included in the design package pricing. In some cases, the cost of image licensing will be passed on to the Client, but only after Client approval. Unless otherwise arranged, all stock images are used under royalty-free license of The Cover Counts. As such, the Client has legal rights to use the stock images only within the scope of the purchased design, and all original copyright is retained by the photographer or licensing agency. Exclusive, rights-managed photography is available, but will incur additional cost.

Stock photos are less expensive and much quicker for the artist to use for cover production. Consider that a custom photo shoot could add weeks to months between books (depending on how picky everyone is), and the additional cost … you really do have to pay the artist, photographer, model(s), etc. … that would mean higher priced books . Well, I think I don't mind stock art too much … I prefer Connie's energies be spent writing us more stories … I like stories .
