I completely agree, that's the crazy part. He's supposed to be one of the good guys. Belen is a horrible judge of character...

The Seattle Elementals is also not finished yet,
And with the multiple world/universe or whatever thing, there is a chance for cameos from Lissa's Universe too.
I'm not sure if I want to read the next Saa Thalarr book. We already know Anna Kay (poor baby) isgoing to meet a sticky end.

Finished my 2 read of the book just now. And obviously I have a question or 2.
Am I the only One wondering why Cayetes was the boss?
I mean V'ili was technically the king of the Sirenali.
You need a planet to be king, still V'ili could obsess, shapeshift and fold space.
Cayetes on the other hand appeared to be a mere human.
Criminal mastermind yes, but I never saw him have any real power.
Why did V'ili call him master? Did I miss something?

RKET, I agree with you on V'ili working for Cayetes is very strange. At first I just assumed they were partners in crime, but as time progressed it seemed more one sided and when V'ili called him boss, I was like WTF.

My theory is that one the rouge gods (Acrimus probably) had something to do with the V'ili - Cayetes relationship dynamics. Then again, V'ili could have been playing Cayetes to his own ends, feeding Cayetes' ego by letting him be in charge all while working in shadows.

Got it on my mind to change my ways, but I don't think I can be anything other than me.

I'll have to double check but didn't Zaria say something about how many rogue gods did it take to obsess V'ili into serving successive criminal masterminds? My guess is ... that is why V'ili is not on top. Considering the number of years that V'ili has been "serving" I am certain that if he had a choice in the matter he would have been calling the shots.
