David, I was taking a sip of coffee as I read that and almost had it come out my nose.
I was trying to update the timeline to include this series, but I am having trouble placing the exact time. here are the hints as to how First Ordinance fits in:
Lissa mentions that Willow has been on Morningsun/Cloudsong II for more than a hundred years. Willow arrived around 2328 according to my timeline. this puts the year greater than 2428.
But...
Liron was killed shortly after dropping of Quin's/Finder's Stasis box. This I assume was during the GWs around 2390. Quin/Finder was a toddler when released (2 years old) and is now 17-18 in Finder/Keeper making the around the year 2407.
It is possible that Liron jumped forward in time to drop the stasis box off, so I am leaning toward placing the time after 2428.
Any one see anything that will help place the time frame better?
Got it on my mind to change my ways, but I don't think I can be anything other than me.

WOW! Another masterpiece by Connie. so now I will ramble and see what you all have to say.
So, Quin is her own race... or maybe a God in her own right... She is at least as powerful as Al'Riyu as she could read Kaldill and Reah as well as those below, but not Kifirin (Ghi'Yisi) and definitely not Lissa.
The thing in this book that really make no sense and bothers me is the Poison - a living organism that produces nuclear waste and is immortal. It impervious to everything and when cut in half, it forms 2. Ok, how about separating its particles? How about Lissa's God powers? you would think if she could move planets, she could get rid of a bunch of organisms. just sayin
What's up with the Three and Hank? Lissa's left holding the bag again, as she is the only one with ties to Human/mortals time as the Queen.
Why were they still talking about non-interference rules? I kind of thought they went out the door once the god wars where concluded (except for the Larentii).
I think Daragar is regretting holding the copy of Elabeth's book back from Quin, waiting for a better time.
So did the gate send Quin to just another place or another time also? It was as set for the poison planet of Tiralia, but as most of the gate it could go elsewhere... though Lissa shut most of them down didn't she?
Quin kills me, she wants answers, but is afraid to ask and it never occurs to her to ask the orb anything WTF?
no M'Fiyah's mentioned with any of Quin's suitors. This may lend weight to Quin's idea that she hasn't had any past lives
ok, enough rambling. someone else give it a go.

I think Quin just never thought to ask the Orb. In fact, it did not occur to me while I was reading
My main question is about the last chapter and the Epilogue. The last chapter is 5 years after the planet was destroyed but is the Epilogue 5 years later also? Or is it right after she goes through the gate?
I thought that the gate went to another part of the planet since it was poisonous, but since Quin is alive and the Orb pushed her to the gate, then it must go to someplace else to escape the planet when it was destroyed.
The poisonous living organism seem to me similar to some of the other races in Connie's world (most of them created by Kifirin like the Sirenali).
When cayetes had the planet destroyed he hadn't yet been transferred to a new body or even had a warlock picked out.
Since the man that grabbed and shushed her warned her about him looking for a new body Its probably safe to say it's not a trick or mislead of Connie and the prologue is still 5 years after.
As for not asking the orb... She wanted to know, but was afraid of it as well.
The gate leads to Tirallia the planet that Kiara owns. Completely poisoned and deadly.
At least the gate dropped Yevil there and many others.
But maybe the orb could control there the gate leads to.
Or she is impervious to poison.
Well .. these are my theories - do not be shy -tear them to pieces if you must!
