Are you sure it was Laurel and Jamie's 35th wedding anniversary ?
They aren't that old. I think it were Jamie and "Matts" parents who had there 35th anni.
Think about it: Kathleen and her husband James Sr. were around 60-65. For Jamie and Laurel to have their 35 Anni , the old guys would have to be at least 80 or so!

yes, it was Jamie and Laurels 35th. James Sr. was killed in God Wars and Kathleen went into the future to South Star. I am pretty sure she stayed there.
Jamie inherited Rome Enterprises. This fits with the ages that Davis (Jr) and Thomas (III) have to be to be FBI Special agents.

Got it on my mind to change my ways, but I don't think I can be anything other than me.

Lots of good thoughts here, let me throw a couple out there.

Lexsi is our fist major female character that has not had a brutal childhood, how do you expect that to impact her character?

The High Demon race seems to be losing it's stranglehold on it's racial purity, i.e. most of their females are now halves (more or less) instead of full High Demon. Could this lead to more females pulling a Lexsi and telling the males they don't control the females, especially from birth?

Reading is a gift to yourself that you can share with everyone.

Yeah, but these less than full females are all raised / indoctrinated on Kifirin. I don't see any change coming unless Li'Neruh Rath (Hank) gets Kifirin and Jayd on board with it. Once Reah's daughters have daughters and there are more Females to go around maybe they will get some freedom. So, in a few generations maybe...

Lexsi, I'm sure was raised as a free thinker by Reah and Edward (and the other mates). I'm not sure if Tory had a lot to do with Lexsi's upbringing, I would hope he did, she does mention her dad in the book when is comes to info on High Demons.

Unless one of the other extended family members had a child around the same time, Lexsi would have been raised as almost an only child as Garwin Wyatt and Bel Erland would be 19 and 17 years old when she was born.

Got it on my mind to change my ways, but I don't think I can be anything other than me.

I forgot to check the box to be notified of replies so I am just getting back here to look at what was posted.

The reference for 35th wedding anniversary is at location 342 on my Kindle -- so very early in the book. They were talking about who attended (if the Ravens attended). But I think Lexsi states that James Jr. looked like a 29 year old man at the end when she found him in the closet (about location 4954). So maybe he is not 100% human anymore.

Also about Tori, he seems very prejudice against humans "humans were not only weak, but short-lived" while Lexsi was immortal. So I think he helped raised her but thank goodness other 'Uncles' were there too. So I think Tori's attitude has not changed too much over the years.

I like the fact that Kory seemed to be a nice guy at the beginning (a little mad at Lexsi) but did come around to be more understanding of her need of freedom -- and it happened within one book rather than years :)
