Just finish my second reread. The first time I practically flew through it. All I can say is wow!!!
Yes I want to know what the event in 1969 and 89 were, though she did state they happened in Russia I think . My first thought was something like the Tunganiska event I think it's called but the dates are wrong.
I think there're May be even more to reveal about Corrinen, and what are the effects of a second dose of the drug going to do to her. Is she going to gain even more powers and why was Leo carrying a syringe of the drug whith him hmmm..... Questions on questions.
I think there is a tiny pointer to Corinne's past very early in the book when she is explaining that she writes under a pen name. "There wasn't any way I wanted to give up an entire catalog of work again, just because I used my current name." Catalog of work could cover many things, but I expect it means that her past self was fairly well known.
I loved this book! Now I have 2 new series from Connie that I am hanging out for. Robbietonk I was wondering all those things too as well as this one.
Corinne stated that she felt herself die in Paris then she felt herself die again at the end of the book. Did someone have the serum to give her straight away or did they take her dead body or......?
What was Corinne in the first place that she alone ( a 75 yo woman) survived the torture etc, died and was able to come back to life (was revived?), then was able to handle the serum when all the other test subjects where young, healthy mostly military when given the drug and even then only 8 survived (2 were killed) all the rest died - 99 i think it was.
well if I'm reading this right the scientist that "developed" the drug if he did actually develop it was as an anti ageing drug and it reversed his ageing as he was actually the first recipient, after testing it on himself ( very unscientific methodology lol). Although given that Ilya was also advanced in years and also dying of cancer it would be interesting to know how old the other surviors were perhaps it wont work for those under a certain age and are perhaps in the process of dying anyway.
Also we now have a tenuous link to the Le`ath Veronis universe confirmed on Connie's face book page in the form of the character Davis Stone lol (i didn't quite get it i knew it was a wolf but didn't quite get the right one arrrgh) and it has been hinted that other character may make fleeting appearances. Just how this is going to tie in the RD-1 books to her other books remains to be seen. However I was actually warming to connie developing a whole new universe and who is to say she has not theres no rule to say you cant reuse names elsewhere.
Hmm just read Connie's May announcements The RD series is definitely a stand alone series but can we trust our most divine authoress to not be fibbing to us lol well it's not as if she hasn't got previous form pmsl!!!
