Yeah, the first thing I thought of was that. No doubt she'll run into them in New Orleans in some way in the beginning of book two.
They book never said the wizard needed to be sacrificed, only that there needed to be a wizard and fire demon, I just assumed the wizard's power is what sacrifices the fire demon and releases all the energy at once.
As for perilous, that's a major understatement for the sprites and Will, since they set her up as a sacrificial lamb, stupid too, since there are only three fire demons left, if he was smart he would have let her attack first, see what damage she could do without killing her.
But yeah, I agree on perilous for the rest of them. Her so called husband wouldn't even get her any training, I'm sure she's more powerful than is apparent, but all she knows how to do is set herself on fire and jump on things. Either way, it was a nasty betrayal, one of the worst I've seen Connie write, even Griffin left the choice at the end up to LIssa, whereas Cassie was sacrificed against her own will, murdered pure and simple, and I wonder if Connie had a cackling evil laugh when she wrote the scene
I agree, I'll be disappointed if she takes any crap in book two, at least not from Will, and the sprites. I'd be quite happy to see them all burn to be honest. Sacrificing others for victory just sounds like something the bad guys would do...
The wolves, her Ex, and others that had no clue what Will planned... well I guess they can have another chance.
It also occurred to me, that when Cassie blew up and took out the nest, she might have destroyed a pyramid, which will make the remaining bad guys stronger, another piece of info Will should have passed on, that damaged pyramid they have needs to be buried, maybe in the middle of the pacific somewhere. There's no proof that happened of course, but it's possible. Of course, I'm probably wrong, I usually am when I try and guess about Connie's books
