Will was surprised that Cassie burned for 2 days and this gave him the opportunity to save her (did the sprite gifts help her burn longer or is she just more powerful than those previous fire demons?). I do remember that people seemed surprised at how quick she could turn herself into her full fire demon.
I was thinking along the same lines ^^
Will is an asshat!
Rob is maybe even a bigger one, because he knowingly manipulated Cassie into being available for the event
the Sprite royalty are definitely on my S--t list
Got it on my mind to change my ways, but I don't think I can be anything other than me.
- The Pretty Reckless "Light Me Up"
Yeah, I think the same. I also believe they pushed for her to be princess to separate her from her husband, and to make sure she didn't leave when he did. Parke is a jerk, but he would have tried to stop Will if they were together when the time came.
My guess was the gifts had nothing to do with shame, they could probably track the things, you know, in case their sacrificial lamb decided to run for it. Call me pessimistic, but there you go.
I think Cliff was the only one that looked decent at the end of the book.
JD: I agree with David. Those "gifts" are not the reason she survived.
I take the fact that she doesnt have to turn on the full moon, as a sign that she is more powerful than other demons.
But who knows? Connie is all kind of wicked and conniving.
It wouldnt be the first time, that my theories are wrong.
PS: Connie - no ofence intended.
"Someone once said a million monkeys banging on a million typewriters could reproduce the works of Shakespeare.
The internet has proven that this is not true."
I see a parallel between Cassie and Reah, both being the last female of their kind. I wonder if a Kiferin-type entity will use her to make more fire demons as weapons against the Evil side.
There were hints that Will answers to a higher authority. Something woke him from what he expected to be eternal sleep to go to Cassie. Wonder what that could be!
Lots of fun mysteries to be solved as the story goes on.
Reah isnt the last high-demon female.
She is/was the only female able to have high-demon children.

I realize that Reah was not a pure bred High Demon, however, since her off-spring bred true to the High Demon race, the result was the same. Since Cassie seems to have traits not common to all Fire Demons, it seems possible that she may also have a mixed heritage.
