An unequivocal yes to this.

Larry wrote: 1) It has been stated that Norian has important role is keeping the Reth Alliance going. To date the best we have seen from Norian (in my opinion) is others keeping him from tearing it apart with his thoughtless acts. If you follow these two thoughts through, this means that somewhere down the line Norian has to get his cranium removed from his rectum and start contributing ... scary huh?

Yah, Norian definitely needs to get his ass handed to him in order to get him to pay attention and learn something. The only question is: how many other people get to suffer when that happens?

Larry wrote: 2) Teeg ... hmm pissing off the one person that could send him back to being Chash?? and might just do it to achieve an attitude adjustment ... difik. I can't see the Campiaan Alliance surviving without Teeg ... or with him as he spirals down the moral drain ... something has to give here, the imbalance can't be sustainable.

The mind cloud is pretty potent with respect to how he treated Breanne, just like his Dad. Gavin would never have behaved that way without it. Discipline and tradition are huge attributes for him, and the cloud trashed both. That left the underlying rage to rule the day.

Larry wrote: 3) Kal vs one of the Mighty ... place your bets ... lol

Hmmm... this one has me in wait mode. Kal is an old skool pain the ass rebel child, but also a Restorer. If he was rogue, I find it unlikely that he would openly be such a jerk. Connie has a few twists and turns for this guy, I think.

Larry wrote: 4) Kay, I think a lot of people are trying to hard ... and overlooking something that, I think, is obvious ... there are things going on that NEED to happen before Ashe and Kay can be together ... we have seen several hinted at in the Ir'Indicti series.

Kay. <3 Kay. I suspect that Kay will be working closely with Breanne from time to time. They just have to get Kalia settled down first. If you remember the end of Destroyer, both names were used so I don't think the dual personality issue is mutable.

Still looking forward to Opal.

Yah, the joy thing looks like it points to some interesting (and happy) events. I am going to enjoy Breanne's character. That puts two of the Mighty in blood relationships with Lissa now. Imagine what a family reunion would be like!

Teeg and Gavin acted completely in character except for the murderous urges. Gavin being controlling and angry is nothing new and started in book one.

Gavin is a piece of crap and always has been. Teeg takes after his dad, remember he did a lot worse to Reah than just being a controlling asshat before the cloud, he was kind of mild in this book IMO.

Nothing they did all book surprised me at all until they were going to kill her near the end if she didn't leave.

Her dad gets father of the year award for just abandoning her to abuse and not knowing about her. I refer to his treatment of Lissa to make this point. If he had known he would have probably made it worse.

If I remember right Cheedas loves Lissa but has shown unkindness to others before this.

My point? The cloud made them murderous, but didn't change who they are at all really beyond that point. They were already contemptible and caused all our protagonists far more pain than the "enemy"

@ Alfred - I was taking the mind cloud into consideration, at this point in time I still consider Teeg morally bankrupt ... as the founding member of the Campiaan Alliance he can't keep the Alliance together or lead it unless he lets all the hate go. Strength and determination only go so far, people only follow leaders they respect ... err ... I think I'll stop here this approaching soap box ...

Griffin ... /bites tongue and lets it go ...

The mindcloud ... well I'm not ready to go into that yet, there are too many pickled red herrings floating around it at the moment.

Yeah, I think he is a lot like his father in focus on duty controlling an underlying rage. The mindcloud affected both of them by removing controls over that rage. I am not sure hate is a part of him. Connie will have to address that. There is no question that he has issues that poison his relationships with any mates. Tory has similar issues with anger, stemming from his father's attitudes.

Yah, definitely a cold fish in this one. Turned rogue?

I agree, we don't have enough information to even speculate on who placed them, though Kifirin mused over them being out of use for quite a while when he pondered isolating Reah at the end of Demon's Quest.
