The inability to read minds is definitely not an indication of being a mate. She can read Bill and he is definitely her mate, she can also read a couple of the others. Just what it means when she can't read minds I don't know and am very curious about it, but that is not it.
Doubtful Fes as she seems to have more of a friend/relative affection for him, could be wrong though! Can't see Ashe as one, a few people have said this but it just doesn't sit right. Ashe only has eyes for Kay, Bree can't stand him and they are both Mighty... As the Mighty are cut from the same cloth, surely that would be akin to incest?
When she first sees Ashe she mentions a very strong attraction to him, more so than Trajan. Ashe has been so focused on Kay he hasnt looked at anyone else, given the way most powerful people seem to have multiple mates in the books its possible she is also Ashes mate.
I think for the most part Brees not been given a good impression of most, if love cant be forgiving then who can? Lol i dont think its at all incestuous as they are born to completly different parents and there is no genetic link at all.

I dunno, see I took that as just the link the Mighty have with each other. I could be and most likely am wrong though, I often am when trying to predict Connie's works.
I,am having trouble thinking of one instance where a protagonist felt instant attraction and was not destined to be a mate starting with blood wager. (Except the crushes young Ashe has on Wynn and Dori, I'm talking adults only.) That's why I think Ashe is likely as well. If you know of an instance let me know, it wouldn't be the first or even fifth time I guessed wrong about Connie's plot.
Ashe being an a$$ is kind of proof too in a way... Its so out of character for him it must be plot line driven.
