is cory considered a mate or just a lover? and the same with wylend they were engaged but were they considered mated? I was also wondering if maybe reah was going to get a grey house wizard as a mate also?
I was wondering something similar - should Tory and Wylend still count as mates? I think from a M'Fiyah perspective they were mated, but we already know from Kiarra's story (and Lissa's with pre-Aryn) that it's possible to turn down a mate.
I'm on the fence as to whether Wylend and Tory should still count. Idiocy doesn't remove mate-hood, but I think that a formal declaration might. Although I suppose by that logic, only Wylend is off the reservation.
Might be better for Reah to thin the mate herd! Leave Aurelius, Farzi, Nenzi, Nefrigar and Lok. Maybe Teeg, even tho I still dislike Teeg for his past actions against Reah. Maybe Lendill if he keeps improving.
Think Kifirin should remove Tory's claiming marks. Remember how they came to be there?? Reah was not ask before he chomped and now this stunt. This marriage to Darletta should prove he is still too immature.
According to conversions in the first book (Demon Lost), I thought Ry would be a mate, he seemed interested. Maybe now with Wylend stopping the engagement?
I do feel sorry for both Reah and Teeg in their relationship. Reah, in the space of 3 months, lost a 17 (or was he 18?) year old friend and ended up with a man she loved before being that same person. But Teeg being 50 or more years old could not be the same person he was before. He has been out in the world as an adult for a long time. Teeg though waited 50 years to be with Reah again which makes him jealous and acting like a jerk. So I am thinking time will help with their relationship.
