I agree; how many Sirenai are still out there? A couple of obsessions, and... By the way, Cheedas had to be separated from others and treated alone (in the presence of only one other who is obsessed himself). Is it necessary for the obsessee to be more or less alone with the obsessed?

Again, who is able to notice the obsession (and mind cloud) on others except Belen? Ashe, Breanne and Lissa can; they just have to learn to recognize it faster and to deal with it. All Lissa's and Breanne's mates evidently can not (they communicated both with Cheedas and Gavin). Teeg can not (Gavin and himself; the obsessed comesula who killed Dee). Grey wizards also can not. Neither Ry nor his father recognized the mind cloud on Gavin and Teeg. Saa Thalarr? And, by the way, what about Thurlow/Thorsten, he was around the palace the whole time - was he? - is he much weaker than Belen?

Is Norian obsessed/mind-clouded or not? If yes, can Ildevar see it? What about the King of Elves?

Manipulating the Mighty through their loved ones seems to be an important strategy of the bad gods; both Ashe and Breanne started thinking about destroying planets - and understanding they can do it easily - when their loved ones were killed or endangered. So the four suspects can play a (pawn) role in such a game; it's enough to make one Mighty go rogue; let's wait and see, after all, the genre rules imply that the good guys win - eventually?

And the Changer, two Restorers (even if one of them is still a jerk), the Ir'indicti, the Lifegiver working together can restore, I hope, the sinister plans and all beautiful planets Connie created and the malevolent ultra-violet destroyed.

P.S. I would gladly find out what it is to be a dolphin shapeshifter...
P.P.S. We still don't know who the Changer is, but it is evident already who is The Teaser, isn't it?

He is one of the Powers That Be, ranked under the Nameless Ones and above the Saa Thalar.

Conner is the guardian kellilee which makes her one of the power that be at the very least if not one of the lower echelon nameless in her other form as the guardian she escorts the souls of the departed to the other realm to await rebirth if my memory serves me remember she showed reah various people including bel towards the end of demons dream....

After reading Ir’Indicti again...

a) Destroyer, Epilogue, Ashe and Kay visiting, Kay making Randy a werewolf: „I can only change things with people. I can’t Change What Was.“ (Loc. 5269)

b) Who is helping Ashe to hold the gate for Elemaiya during the clash of the crowns? „I am here, on the other side, filtered into his mind. A male voice. One he didn’t recognize.“ (Loc. 4844) The Mighty Mind?

As to your second question it could have been Edward as we now know he is a nameless one and the younger Ashe may not have recognised the " new" older Edwards mind voice. As to Kay being able to do what she did hmmm how often have we seen a characters ability grow and expand its obvious Kay is special we just don't know yet how special. She is destined to become a mightys mate after all and we already know from blood double some of the events from destroyer are to still happen from the godwars end

Well, I decided to reread this series again instead of the Blood series and wanted to share some of my thoughts after reading other posts. There are a lot of questions about who the Changer is and I remember thinking when I first read this book that I took the title literally and was thinking on the lines of shifters and the like, they change from one form to another but Kay/Kalia could also be considered someone who changes because she does have two distinct personas and she changes between the two.

I agree with Leena on this one since Spawn turn into dust when they are killed. It would be hard to separate Spawn dust and vampire ash. I don't think they would've taken the chance and allowed Spawn to be buried in his grave. Rolfe was respected too much for that.

Now, about Gavin and Teeg, I think that whether they have a mind cloud or not should not mitigate their actions. Both Gavril and Gavin noticed their action were over the top after she folded away from them. Gavin went and got drunk after Bree nearly killed herself which seems to be his default when he is distress (he did the same after Lissa got her first reprieve from the council), which makes me think he knew he was doing something wrong. Perhaps he didn't realize how badly he messed up but still he knew something. He also admitted to Karzac he meant to harm her. Both of them where told over and over that they were basically screwing up and treated her badly but neither of them even tried to care. A mind cloud messes people up and makes them do bad things but I don't think it takes away free will or the ability to think otherwise they would have treated everyone badly.

Norian is another that I have a major problem with and would if his actions are mitigated because of a mind cloud I just might scream. I actually liked him when he first showed up in the Blood series. I thought he was a bit self centered and possessive but I attributed that to the fact that he had a pretty sterile (loveless?) upbringing. Really started to dislike him during the Demon series...not only did he not seem to care about what he was putting Reah through but he kept on doing it. However, by the end of that series I thought that he was actually learning from his mistakes and was truly contrite about what he did. Obviously in this book he is showing he has learned nothing.

Cheedas...well, I feel badly for him, what happened because of that obsession is going to probably haunt him for the rest of his life. That said how cold hearted am I to say that I am disappointed that he appears to have no remorse for his treatment of Bree since he doesn't seem to remember her?

Griffin once again proved that he sucks as a father. I mean seriously? he purposely impregnated a woman with his kid expecting her to abort it? Does he not understand how messed up that is? That was a being that he planned on not only giving life to but ending before it truly had a life!!! I don't care what kind of service he gave to the powers that be and the Saa Thalarr, he premeditated murdering his own child twice. I can only hope that the punishment he receives is worse than I can imagine (and I have a very vivid imagination).
