Okay - so I was a very bad employee yesterday and finished the book while at work. This made it difficult to explain my random bursts of swearing and anger.

And the 24 hours is up.

The first few years of Lissa's vampire life made me cry. THIS??? This just made me so angry I couldn't see straight. Kal made me so angry that I almost threw my reader. His abuse of Breanne deserves significant retribution. More than dunking him in an ocean. He will want her to love him later and regret this.

And Griffin showed NO REMORSE this time. Previously, he at least had some remorse, but WTF is up with fathering children and then just leaving them with murderous difiks?? Shame on Wylend for his stupidity and arrogance too.

That said - did anyone else think that "mate" = "unreadable"? I think that's cool in some ways, but maybe not so much in others.

Not sure what to think of Kay/Kalia yet. I did think that Ashe has more than one mate and he just doesn't know it yet. Which is too bad.

I am to the point that I feel a little sorry for these women having so many mates. No one deserves to be spread that thin.

And as someone noted on Facebook - Teeg and Reah still aren't getting along and it has been 16 years. That is NOT a good sign. Sounds like even without the mindcloud, his head is still up his ....

usually I have some patience with seeing what others have to say - I had to get this out.

Im intrigued as to what Teeg has done to Rhea now seeing as she says at some point 'you know what you did. I wonder if its anything to do with their child as there is no mention of him at all but we do hear about Bel.

I was wondering about that too. We hear about Bel and Lissa-Drew-Drake twins but no Garwin Wyatt. Where is he?

I also agree that mate == unreadable but I have to re-read to get who they are all.

I liked the ending in that there is not a cliffhanger so we know Lissa is alive. Everything is not OK but it is easier to wait for the next book.

I also like the fact that Breanne can read people. She knew that the men who were interested in her at first and then ignored her was due to Galvin and Teeg. She is so different than Reah who was always wondering why people acted the way they did. Also I think Breanne is a very strong person at the end. It is nice to see that after Book 1 rather than it appearing in later books.
