Maybe the general is the offspring of two of the Mightys before they were reborn hence the power...........kidding!!! Haha.
@David i think that theory makes sense, he could be stealing there power/strength. Although i thought he might have been weakened by all the rogues deaths and he didnt personally appear to be.
I have to say that i do find the 'little girl' comments and the general treating the women like china dolls a tad patronising but were dealing with mostly immortal or long lived people. Therefore its natural that they have more old fashioned treatment of females.
Admittedly if someone kept referring to me as little girl id probably punch them.......but i dont know any vampires....so i should be fine

Maybe he's not stealing their power but they give them freely to him, because he promised them something/EVERYTHING...
Or perhaps he gains his power from another source... whatever.
However I think you theory is probably true, David.
But if he's practically draining them off their power, wouldn't they be weakened? They didn't seem to be until now.
Yeah, could be the half million godlings all donated a little power each, I was thinking more about the supporters of the three. Capture a god in that purple power sucking energy trap to absorb the power and route it to the general, he could have a bunch imprisoned at once constantly leeching their power as it regenerates etc..... As his power grew he could catch even more powerful gods on the food chain etc.... That's what I love about my crazy theories, assumption on top of assumption. Probably not right even if it kinda fits what we know.
Do we need to worry that anyone who was at first kind but who has become less and less sympathetic are likely candidates for soul draining? Griffin, Wyland, and Kifirin spring to mind.
Kifirin should be immune to the soul thing, since he doesn't have a previous life. I would worry about him being recruited though..... The way he has been acting the last few books, its easy to see the resentment there.
Griffin and Wylend? Don't you need a soul for that to work? JK.... It's certainly possible. Not sure what the point would be at this time, neither one is actually helping right now, which would probably make them a low priority target for the other side....
I would worry about Lissa though, who knows who could have overheard Teeg 2.0 learning about Lissa's last life.
Good one David, of course you first have to have a soul before it can be drained (snicker); but when it comes to neither Griffin or Wylend actually helping right now - isn't that the whole point of the soul draining?
