You know, I hadn't thought of it that way, but your right. Gavril has become the very controlling personally named "Teeg". He probably puts this under "for her protection" or something.
Damn, time to play Devil's Advocate again ... /sigh.
You do realize that a good bit of Reah's problems are her own fault? It take both sides to make a doormat ... one to do the walking and one to lie there getting walked on. Reah has shown time and time again that when defending others she has no peer in the determination department (let anyone go after Farzi or Nenzi and watch out ...) yet when that same ill turn of fate is directed at her she breaks down.
Communication is a two way street, all of her mates have popped in on her many times yet she has never returned the favor or asked for (demanded) help.
While the guys are far from blameless, Reah has a stake in the race too, she needs to get a little selfish and determine what she wants in life.
Reading is a gift to yourself that you can share with everyone.
I'm not disagreeing with Larry but you have to remember how Reah grew up if she voiced an opinion or even stood out she was beaten by her Father(at the time thought to be her brother) and let me say this it's damn near impossible to break those habits you grow up with and for Reah that was making sure she agreed with and didn't cause trouble. Now like I said I'm not disagreeing with Larry at all some blame does lies with Reah but only a tiny portion and you also have to remember that most of her mates basically blew her off for 25 year and like Reah said in the book Garde and Jayd probably held her daughters hostage(in a sense of the word) if she ever tried to go against them or at least Garde would. The other thing is Reah like Lissa doesn't want to hurt the owns she cares about or the ones they care about in my opinion that's the only thing that kept Garde alive in the last book because her daughters love him as their grandfather. At least that my opinion on why Reah doesn't go against them. As for Teeg for a guy over 50 I think is really immature.
Feel free to disagree, I am not writing the books nor do I have knowledge you don't ... I just have to show the other side of the discussion now and then, it helps keep everyone thinking (-:

You know what I really want to see in the next book or even in the new up coming series, some werewolves or a single werewolf play a bigger part. Apart from the Legend of the Ir'Indicti Series and early in the Blood Destiny series they've basically disappeared, sure there is the occasional word in from Weldon or Winkler but they more or less turned into background characters, not a bad thing mind you. I think the werewolves need to make a come back, I mean has there been one werewolf in the entire High Demon Series that's said two words? What do you think should the werewolves make a come back or stay silent characters?
I agree! I would love to have more of Winkler, Weldon, or even the others. However, I did see Connie mention that the God Wars would have Trace and group popping in. I am hoping in more than a background way also.
